You will need a fishing pole as well of course. However, not any ordinary fishing pole will do you will need to ensure that you obtain a specialized fishing pole that is designed solely for the purpose of this particular type of fishing.
Your fishing line will need to be substantially heavier and thicker that normal ordinary fishing lines. The reason why your line needs to be thicker is because you are fishing on the fly, per say and your precision needs to be correct.
You will not be using anything to weigh your pole down either, so a thicker line will add on a little extra weight that you will need in order to submerge your pole.
Learning fly fishing without the proper equipment is a disaster in itself. Before you even begin to take any lessons from anyone in the art of fly fishing you need to have all the proper gear intact that you will need.
