Some Good Carp Fishing Bait is a post from: Fish Locators

You need some good carp fishing bait if you want to land yourself a big one. Most people love the challenge of reeling in a big carp. They’re known as good fighters and make for a really fun time. Since they’re bottom feeders most people won’t eat them. But if you cut the mud-line out, which is an orange streak down both sides of the meat, you can eat them as safely as you can eat catfish.

Over the years in the little town where I grew up, fishing was part of our lifestyle. It gave us something to do and kept us out of trouble. So we learned a lot about it since we were all very competitive. Landing the biggest carp was always a fun challenge and gave us many days of good memories out fishing with our friends. One of the things we always had fun with, was finding the best baits to use to beat the other guys. I have three main baits that are proven to be successful for catching carp.

The first good bait I want to share with you is what we call a ‘dough ball’. It’s made from ‘Shredded Wheat’, which is a cereal we ate growing up. You simply take one of the shredded wheat biscuits and dip it under the water, and then start mashing and molding it into a round ball. It may take a couple of dunks to get it right, but when you finish you have a round ball that will hold together fine in the water. Then sink your hook into the center until you can’t see it, and cast it out. The big carp really love these things.

Most any angler, experienced or not, knows that worms are good fish bait. But the truth is, different worms are best for different types of fish. You have night crawlers, wigglers, stripers, and red-worms that all have their place and can be used for carp too. But I’ve found that the best worms for carp are green-worms. These worms can be found in the dark mud along the riverbank that looks like big cracked mud slabs. Trust me, you’ll catch more carp with these than you will with any other type worms.

For many years carp fishing was a favorite activity around my hometown. It’s really a thrill to hook one of these big fighters and land him on the bank. The average size we usually catch are from six up to twenty pounds, but there have been some thirty pounders caught now and then. They grow to be very big and give you a fight that you won’t soon forget. I have a lot of good memories from carp fishing that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

The third bait that slays the big carp, is also used as a good bluegill bait. It can be found in any grocery store. It’s simply a can of sweet corn. Yes, sweet corn is as good a bait for big carp as anything going. You just load up the hook, one kernel at a time until you’ve got it covered, and then cast it out and sit back and wait. Carp love corn, and you shouldn’t have to wait long before you get a bite.

Now that you know some good carp fishing bait, then you need to get out there and test them for yourself. I’m sure you’re going to find that what I’ve said holds true. Carp have a real hard time resisting these three baits, and you’ll have a hard time resisting using them often once you give them a try. So good luck, and hope you catch some big ones

Pike is a fish that lives in northern regions of each continent as it prefers colder waters. The largest fish from this species can grow up to almost 2 meters in length and weigh around 35 kilograms.

Many people who are taking fishing as a sport know that some pike fishing lures and other items of equipment are necessary for catch. Yet, you may have all the accessories possible and still be unsuccessful if you know nothing about the feeding habits and the specifics of the species.

All the baits and lures take their inspiration from the fish diet. Pike feast on shoal fish and may sometimes even eat one of their own, regularly the ones that are smaller in size. Insects, amphibians and even ducklings are part of the menu if there is nothing better to find.

As for pike fishing lures, they split into four main groups, spoons, spinner baits, swim baits and live fish. Spoons work great for pike because these curious fish will be attracted by the chaotic, trembling movement of the lures. This kind of pike fishing lures also has the reputation of catching fish more rapidly than other models.

Spinners on the other hand are simpler pike fishing lures preferred by most hobbyists. To make sure that the pike really bite, it is advisable to use large spinners and not small versions. More experienced fishermen advise for a trailer hook to be attached so that fish may get indeed caught even if the bite is shorter.

Swim baits are another option of pike fishing lures that you can try. Usually made of plastic, these items have a major downside: when one fish bites you need to change the lure with a new one because it gets torn apart .

Live fish will definitely be the traditional or classic variant of pike fishing lures. Depending on the type of pike one intends to catch, any of the food sources mentioned above are a good choice for lure, especially minnows that work pretty well with smaller pike.

All in all, pike fishing lures represent an accessory, and it is up to the angler to decide whether they need to be artificial or natural.

Those who have very little experience with fishing should get well informed on what materials and equipment items to bring along, if they are keen on catching something.
