Some Good Carp Fishing Bait is a post from: Fish Locators

You need some good carp fishing bait if you want to land yourself a big one. Most people love the challenge of reeling in a big carp. They’re known as good fighters and make for a really fun time. Since they’re bottom feeders most people won’t eat them. But if you cut the mud-line out, which is an orange streak down both sides of the meat, you can eat them as safely as you can eat catfish.

Over the years in the little town where I grew up, fishing was part of our lifestyle. It gave us something to do and kept us out of trouble. So we learned a lot about it since we were all very competitive. Landing the biggest carp was always a fun challenge and gave us many days of good memories out fishing with our friends. One of the things we always had fun with, was finding the best baits to use to beat the other guys. I have three main baits that are proven to be successful for catching carp.

The first good bait I want to share with you is what we call a ‘dough ball’. It’s made from ‘Shredded Wheat’, which is a cereal we ate growing up. You simply take one of the shredded wheat biscuits and dip it under the water, and then start mashing and molding it into a round ball. It may take a couple of dunks to get it right, but when you finish you have a round ball that will hold together fine in the water. Then sink your hook into the center until you can’t see it, and cast it out. The big carp really love these things.

Most any angler, experienced or not, knows that worms are good fish bait. But the truth is, different worms are best for different types of fish. You have night crawlers, wigglers, stripers, and red-worms that all have their place and can be used for carp too. But I’ve found that the best worms for carp are green-worms. These worms can be found in the dark mud along the riverbank that looks like big cracked mud slabs. Trust me, you’ll catch more carp with these than you will with any other type worms.

For many years carp fishing was a favorite activity around my hometown. It’s really a thrill to hook one of these big fighters and land him on the bank. The average size we usually catch are from six up to twenty pounds, but there have been some thirty pounders caught now and then. They grow to be very big and give you a fight that you won’t soon forget. I have a lot of good memories from carp fishing that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

The third bait that slays the big carp, is also used as a good bluegill bait. It can be found in any grocery store. It’s simply a can of sweet corn. Yes, sweet corn is as good a bait for big carp as anything going. You just load up the hook, one kernel at a time until you’ve got it covered, and then cast it out and sit back and wait. Carp love corn, and you shouldn’t have to wait long before you get a bite.

Now that you know some good carp fishing bait, then you need to get out there and test them for yourself. I’m sure you’re going to find that what I’ve said holds true. Carp have a real hard time resisting these three baits, and you’ll have a hard time resisting using them often once you give them a try. So good luck, and hope you catch some big ones

Fishing is a number one hobby of many people. There is nothing better than sitting down to dinner and enjoying fresh fish that you caught. Fly fisherman love to view the beautiful surroundings, see wildlife in action and the privacy one gets to enjoy while fishing on a small stream. Trout fishing tips-small streams are abundant and here are a few of them.

Outnumbering big rivers, small streams are a fine spot to catch trout. Streams feed into a larger river. There are tips for successful small stream fishing. Many fishermen are used to fishing in larger venues like lakes or big rivers. There are tricks of the trade for fishing in a small stream. They are common sense approaches to fishing that everyone can successfully do to help you catch that big one that is out there.

One tip is to approach or move along the stream quiet, slowly and on the bank. Unlike lakes and rivers, fish living in small streams have smaller quarters to call home. They are more aware of their surroundings. It is good that they are in smaller quarters but a fisherman needs to be aware and move accordingly. Do not splash through the water or dinner will swim away. Approach quietly and wear clothing that blends in with the area. Loud, bright colors will scare fish off. A comfortable fish will more than likely take a bite at your bait.

Check out the surrounding before casting. Make sure you take into account any overhanging limbs. Decide should you cast back or just roll it. Just make sure to keep your equipment and not have it spend time up in a tree. Every small stream has different surroundings and terrain. The point is just to be aware.

Once you have surveyed the situation, adjust your casting appropriately. There is no need for a big cast at a small stream. If you perform a lengthy cast, it will overshoot your target. Be patient and take your time. Chances are quarters are tight so be aware so you do not snag your line.

If you spot a nice pool that would be a great place for a fish to hide, remember do not forget that most large fish will reside in a large pool. However, they will regularly feed upstream or downstream from that location. Be alert and do rush into the situation.

Pick your fishing spot. You do not have to go to everyone that has big trees over it. If you have a tendency to get your line hung up, pass on by and find another spot. Remember fishing is supposed to be fun. Do not get frustrated or fed up because of constantly getting your line stuck.

Fishing in a small stream can be productive. There are generally fewer people by the small stream. A fisherman should remember to watch their casting. It does not need to be very long for a small stream. Be aware of your surroundings and tread softly. The fish will hear you that is for sure. Be patient and enjoy the day. Follow these tips and you will surely catch the big one in no time.

Pike Fishing Lures-Make Sure You Get The Right Ones is a post from: Fish Locators

Pike is a fish that lives in northern regions of each continent as it prefers colder waters. The largest fish from this species can grow up to almost 2 meters in length and weigh around 35 kilograms.

Many people who are taking fishing as a sport know that some pike fishing lures and other items of equipment are necessary for catch. Yet, you may have all the accessories possible and still be unsuccessful if you know nothing about the feeding habits and the specifics of the species.

All the baits and lures take their inspiration from the fish diet. Pike feast on shoal fish and may sometimes even eat one of their own, regularly the ones that are smaller in size. Insects, amphibians and even ducklings are part of the menu if there is nothing better to find.

As for pike fishing lures, they split into four main groups, spoons, spinner baits, swim baits and live fish. Spoons work great for pike because these curious fish will be attracted by the chaotic, trembling movement of the lures. This kind of pike fishing lures also has the reputation of catching fish more rapidly than other models.

Spinners on the other hand are simpler pike fishing lures preferred by most hobbyists. To make sure that the pike really bite, it is advisable to use large spinners and not small versions. More experienced fishermen advise for a trailer hook to be attached so that fish may get indeed caught even if the bite is shorter.

Swim baits are another option of pike fishing lures that you can try. Usually made of plastic, these items have a major downside: when one fish bites you need to change the lure with a new one because it gets torn apart .

Live fish will definitely be the traditional or classic variant of pike fishing lures. Depending on the type of pike one intends to catch, any of the food sources mentioned above are a good choice for lure, especially minnows that work pretty well with smaller pike.

All in all, pike fishing lures represent an accessory, and it is up to the angler to decide whether they need to be artificial or natural.

Those who have very little experience with fishing should get well informed on what materials and equipment items to bring along, if they are keen on catching something.

Master Angler Size Walleye Fishing is a post from: Fish Locators

It can always be said that any day spent fishing in the Great White North of Canada is better than the best day at the office. Who could ask for a better day than being on the lake out casting for that trophy sized Walleyed Pickerel? Alternatively you might be fishing from shore for just some plain old less exotic perch fish nothing can be said to be more relaxing and a life of leisure than a fishing expedition with your family or fishing buddies at your side. It is just plain good old fashioned safe fun.

Although often referred to in the sporting and hunting books and magazines as a “Walleyed Pike fish” these wild animals that our creator perfected for our angling pleasures is are actuality neither a Walleye nor a Pike fish. Massive specimens can be found in the wilds growing up to and attaining weights of 9 kg. Yet the average size of most landed by fishing folk are in the 1- 3 pound class , with the rank average being 1 kg in size and weight. Yet few of these see it back as pickerel fillets or even the more treasured delicacy of “Pickerel Cheeks. You can bet that these land smack dab, promptly in the middle of a hot frying pan or skillet. Poor fish. It can be said that the smart and the smarter Walleyes get away for the fisherman to come back another fishing day. You would think that the function in life of these “smarter specimens” is to both taunt and torment the most experienced of anglers and fisher people.

If there is one type of aquatic water landscape condition that Walleye and the Canadian pickerel fish like it is good cold water living and swimming. Less than 29 degrees Celsius is the general rule of thumb. Hence conditions such as in Northern Minnesota, Wisconsin or the vast cooler lakes of Lake Manitoba especially in the Lake Manitoba Narrows regions or the very large Lake Winnipeg inland sea are more than ideal.

Walleye fish can be said to travel in “schools,” so it can be said that if you are lucky enough to catch one fish, others are just waiting for you to land them, waiting nearby and at the very same depth and depths. Electronic fish locators and trolling motors are just ideal and handy tools and accessories to have on hand for any avid or not so avid fishing person, sportsmen or angler. If you are an outdoors hunting type, the odds are that you thoroughly enjoy a retreat to a Northern Canadian hunting and fishing lodge or lodges.

Some people like to travel and lie on the beach for their vacation or vacations. Others like city shopping and dining. Yet nothing beats the excitement and comradeship of a day spent fishing with your buddies fresh from the fishing lodge or lodges, and then frying up your catch of fresh Walleyed Pickerel.

In my local lake, you hardly need a fish locator to find carp, they seem to be everywhere. I must admit I’ve tended to think of them as more of a nuisance rather than a fish I should be seeking to catch. This article by Tony G. Stevenson talks about what’s needed for carp fishing:

Carp fishing is a popular hobby that has a long tradition in Europe, and is growing in the States, as well. Carp are known to thrive in almost any type of water, making them an easy to find and attractive fish to angle for. All fishermen know that no matter what you’re chasing, good angling gear is needed.

One of the most important parts of getting good gear is obviously the fishing rod. A good carp rod will be medium action, and long – generally at least six feet long, although longer can be better. This gives the strength and flexibility needed for carp fishing.

When you’re considering fishing rods, obviously you also need to consider reels. Open faced reels should also be the only type you consider, although this is true of almost any good fishing rod. In addition, you want the reel to be large enough to hold at least 150 yards 12 pound test line.

Carp tend to like bait as opposed to tackle. While these fish have voracious appetites, they definitely prefer smelly bait to actual plastic lures. So try looking around for quality carp bait.

More advanced carpers will often use racks with several rods, or “pods,” and set them all up with bait and wait for any carp to show. These rod holders can be very expensive, but also free up the hands for anglers who don’t mind catching up on a good book while waiting for the trophy carp to show.

Don’t forget about the fishing line, either. Good fishing line for carp is a minimum of 12 pound test line, and higher can be better. Many carp fishermen prefer line made from Kevlar.

While advanced fishing tackle and gear is going to cost more, the good news is that beginners can get started for pretty cheap. While fishing might not be the least expensive of hobbies, learning to carp fish is a deeply rewarding hobby that provides hours more entertainment than a movie or night out to an expensive bar.

Every angler knows you have to have the right gear to get the job done. If you want to really enjoy carp fishing, get the right tackle and gear early on and you’ll be glad you did.

If you would like to learn more about carp fishing reels and other carp fishing gear, please feel free to visit for me great free information.
